Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Ring Rumor Rings Hollow

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are considered to be in a relationship, but is the fetching “Twilight” hunk ready to take it to the next level with a “promise ring?”

The rumor originated in OK magazine, and was quickly mimicked by other gossip Web sites, such as HollywoodLife, eager for page views from gullible Twihard fans. But the stories appear to be greatly exaggerated.

A number of sites, including gossipcop are now claiming the story is not only bogus, but ridiculous.

Pattinson reported had “picked out the perfect gift” for Stewart, who just turned 21 last week. It was supposed to be a vintage $17,000 diamond “promise ring.”

As usual, the magazine cited an “insider,” who said the actor “found it through a dealer who specializes in estate jewelry, and he knew it was just perfect for Kristen!”

“The ring is rose-cut diamonds set in rose gold. It’s a very feminine piece of jewellery and very old,” a supposed insider told web site celebritymania.

As if promise rings even existed back then. Plus, who is Rob, Joe Jonas?

Apparently Rob stopped short of a real engagement ring, because neither he nor Kristen are quite ready to walk down the aisle.

Rob and Kristen seem a little too mature to be playing around with promise rings.

Many of the off-screen marriage rumors appear to be fueled by the fact that their “Twilight” characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan get married and have a baby in the last two segments of the “Twilight” series, “Breaking Dawn” Part 1 and Part 2.

“The shiny bauble has certain gullible outlets like HollywoodLife asking,’ Could a wedding be next?'” gossipcop reported.

But alas, the “promise ring,” is just as bogus as reports in the magazine about a baby, wedding plans and breakups.

What is true is that the “Twilight” cast and crew held a birthday party at Rockwell’s Bar and Grill in Squamish, Vancouver, and bought Stewart a motorcycle as a present.

Okay, it’s not a ring, but a motorcycle is still a pretty cool gift.
