Gwyneth Paltrow is baaaack… on “Glee,” that is. The multi-talented cook (hee!) is making her third appearance on the show and will cover UK singer Adele’s moody “Turning Tables” off her current No. 1 album.
Paltrow, 38, will also be showcasing a new look as a brunette, although she’ll still play sex education teacher Holly Holiday.
The new look is a 19th Century dress she dons to teach a history class. She wears a frumpy looking wig as part of her outfit.
The Academy Award winner has been a major hit in her first two appearances, not only for her acting, but for her singing.
She sang a mash up of Rihanna’s Umbrella and “Singing In The Rain” from the 1952 Gene Kelly movie by the same name that starred Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor and Jean Hagen.
She also covered Cee-Lo’s “Forget You” and Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me?” and Stevie Nicks’ “Landslide.”
In fact, since her star-turn in the movie “Country Strong,” in which she played a washed-up singer trying to make a comeback, Paltrow’s music cred has grown.
Gwyneth also sang at the Academy Awards, the Country Music Awards and The Grammys.
On the show, Paltrow plays the love interest of Matthew Morrison’s character Mr. Schuester.
Morrison is trying to parlay his Glee exposure into a solo singing career and will tour this summer, starting in June.
The have been reports that Morrison has asked Paltrow to join him.
“We’re talking about it, it’s just gonna be if our schedules match up,” he said in a recent interview.
The Glee episode, “The Night of Neglect,” will air on Fox on Tuesday (Apr. 19). Check out Gwyneth’s cover of Adele’s song below.
