Chris Jericho Shimmied Off Dancing With Stars Stage (video)

Wrestling star Chris Jericho was shimmied off the stage on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” He was eliminated from the show after Kendra Wilkinson‘s rousing samba Monday (Apr. 25) night.

Jericho and pro dancer Cheryl Burke have been dueling for last place with Wilkinson and her partner Louis van Amstel.

But Kendra’s rousing dance may have given her just the boost she needed to avoid elimination. She was replaced in the bottom two by Ralph Macchio, who once was a leader.

The judge’s more or less signaled Jericho’s departure after his dance Monday night was called “cold, uneventful and a bit lumpy.” The tango drew a 22 points out of 30 possible.

“It’s actually good timing that I got eliminated because I have to fly over to England for the royal wedding,” he laughed.

Cheryl also had an inkling that the end was near.

“You can kind of feel it when you get the lowest score on the leaderboard, so I don’t know if expecting is the right word, but it happened,” she said afterward.

“Let’s be honest: It wasn’t my best dance, and at this point in the competition, you have to be your best every week or this is what happens,” Jericho added.

“I’m proud of all the dances we did and I’m proud to show that a WWE guy and a rock ‘n’ roll singer can go this far and do this.”

Burke told her partner he exceeded her expectations every week.

“You’ve turned into an amazing dancer and an amazing friend,” she said.

The latest elimination leaves six dance couples competing: Hines Ward, Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, Kendra Wilkinson, Ralph Macchio and Romeo.

Beside Jericho, eliminated contestants are evenly split between men and women. They include: Sugar Ray Leonard, Wendy Williams, Mike Catherwood and Petra Nemcova.

New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys, now considerably older, sang their new single, “Don’t Turn Out the Lights,” and their hits “Step By Step” and “I Want It That Way.”

“American Idol” cast off Pia Toscano also appeared to sing “I’ll Stand By You” as boyfriend Mark Ballas, one of the pro dancers performed with a fellow pro.
