The show, at Atahualpa Stadium in Quito, Ecuador, was the first in a 20-date tour that will also take her to the Philippines and Australia. But no stops are currently slated for the United States or Canada.

Miley, 18, left little doubt that she intends to take her music career from Disney pop to the edge of rock-in-roll.

Comparisons with rock train wreck Taylor Momsen were rife following the show.

Miley’s high energy show drew loud cheers from the South American crowd, which expects pop stars to be wild and raunchy.

She was joined on stage by equally stripped down dancers, and blazed through a set list that included hits from all of her albums.

Among the songs were “Party In The U.S.A.” “Kicking and Screaming,” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” a song she originally sang in a controversial duet with Poison frontman Bret Michaels.

Miley’s dad Billy Ray Cyrus accused Michaels of having an affair with wife Tish, and briefly separated from her. But both denied any liaison, and Billy Ray and Tish have reconciled.

In a sign of her hard rock leanings, Cyrus also played a string of Joan Jett covers, including “I Love Rock’N’Roll,” “Bad Reputation” and “Cherry Bomb.”

Miley sang with Jett on a recent Oprah show celebrating women in rock.

“Honestly I can’t believe my first show is already over.” Miley Tweeted afterward.

“Amazinnggg. This crowd was beyond incredible. I cried my eyes out. so touched.”
