Rooney Mara goes full frontal topless in the new poster for David Fincher’s Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which strips away the printing that concealed her on an earlier poster.
Mara looks tough and vulnerable the same time with co-star Danial Craig clutching her with his arm from behind, concealing one breast, but leaving the other, with pierced nipple exposed.
This may be Fincher’s darkest picture yet, epitomized by the film’s first poster. He said he expected major push-back from the studio for his vision for the film, but the suits apparently stayed out of the way.
The controversial director may finally do justice to the late Stieg Larsson’s international best-selling crime series “Millennium Trilogy.”

Mara plays the nihilistic, goth, avenging angel, Lisbeth Slander. Craig is investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist, who teams up with her to crack the criminal underworld of Henrik Vanger, played by Christopher Plummer.
Among Larsson’s dark themes, his books explore sexual violence, corporate corruption and latent Nazism in Swedish society.
The poster features Craig standing behind a topless Rooney, his arm artfully draping her left breast. But the lettering protecting the rest of Mara’s modesty has been stripped away.
Mara starred in last year’s “A Nightmare On Elm Street” and appeared in Fincher’s Oscar winning “The Social Network.”
Swedish actress Noomi Rapace defined the role in three Swedish-made films, which have become cult classics.
But Fincher seems intent from the trailer on capturing the full-on nihilistic depravity that Larsson sought to portray.
Just check out the trailer below. The film debuts Dec. 21.
