Conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck and one-time close friend Sarah Palin are engaged in an all-out feud. Neither are reportedly speaking to each other, after Hassebeck ripped Palin on ABC’s “The View.”
Hasselbeck campaigned for Palin in 2008 and added a touch of glamour to her campaign, but the former Alaskan governor has even alienated her closest supporters with her demagoguery.
The thin-skinned Palin was miffed after Hasselbeck criticized the potential GOP presidential candidate. Palin stopped taking her calls and Hasselbeck has raised the level of criticism on the show.
Among other barbs, Hasselbeck accused Palin of “manipulating” the media to draw attention away her contender Mitt Romney.
“If I had termites in my house, I’d get someone in there who could deal with it,” Hasselbeck said on show.
“Mitt Romney, right now, his specialty is the economy. I’d have him in there.
“Here’s why we’re not hearing it, because Sarah Palin’s on a bus, and right now she’s manipulating, in terms of media attention,” she said.
Not surprisingly, each blames the other for the falling out.
“Sarah has let her down. Elisabeth has reached out to her several times but she never responds,” a friend of the talk show host told Pop Eater.
“She has stopped trying all together and doesn’t care who knows,” the friend said.
Hasselbeck also criticized Palin’s use of crosshairs on an election map to target Democratic opponents, calling the tactic “dispicable,” after Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot.
“Elisabeth feels used by Sarah,’ a friend of The View co-host told Pop Eater. “When she needed her, she was all over Elisabeth and now she treats her like a stranger. It’s sad.”
