Maria Shriver has vacillated
between reconciliation and throwing the bum out following revelations about husband Arnold Schwarzenegger’s sexual romps with the hired help. In the end, she chose to terminate — the marriage that is.
Shriver has cited “irreconcilable differences” in her California divorce petition and is seeking full custody of their two minor children, 17-year old Patrick Schwarzenegger and 13-year old Christopher, according to gossip site TMZ.
In a spectacular unraveling of what was thought to be one of Hollywood’s more solid marriages, Schwarzenegger and Shriver split two months ago, after the former California governor admitted fathering a child with household maid Mildred Patti Baena.
He kept the secret for more than a decade while the maid continued to work under Maria’s nose.
It was only after Maria heard staff whispers about the likeness between Baena’s son and Arnold that she finally confronted the maid, who confessed to her indiscretion.
Following that, other women stepped forward to claim they had had sexual relations with the Terminator during his 25-year marriage to the Kennedy clan member.
The marriage apparently had been withering for years. But Maria bravely kept it together until after her father R. Sergeant Shriver died in January. He was married to Eunice Kennedy, the sister of President John F. Kennedy.
Shriver and Schwarzenegger announced their separation on May 9th. In all they had four children. Daughter Katherine, is 21, and Christina is 19.
Maria has demanded and is getting “significant” child support for two of their children, even though she is crazy wealthy in her own right.
Maria apparently intends to play hardball.
She’s hired forensic accountants to get an accurate view of her estranged spouse’s assets to make sure she gets her fair share, according to gossip site radaronline.
