Mariah Carey appeared on one of her favorite shows, not Letterman, Leno, or American Idol, but the Home Shopping network where she dished about her pregnancy, calling it “bleak” and a “rough road.”
Carey, 42, gave birth a twin son and daughter on her fourth wedding anniversary to father Nick Cannon in April.
The first baby, a girl weighed 5 pounds, 3 ounces, measuring 18 inches long; her brother followed, weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches long.
Mariah revealed while displaying a piece of jewelry that she had finally cut her long nails because of her babies.
She said being pregnant was a “bleak” period in her life.
“Everyone was always saying to me, ‘Oh but it’s all worth it.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah well it’s easy for you to say when you’re not the one whose feet are this big,'” she said.
“It turned into a really difficult time. [Being] pregnant with twins is different to anything,” she added.
“My body went through so much – you have to keep those twins in as long as possible, but it’s a sacrifice you make for them. I was literally 47 weeks pregnant.”
“Honey it was bleak for me. I was so uncomfortable back then.”
Mariah spent two-hours on the shopping show promoting her new jewelry line and she even spoke with a British accent.
