Kate Gosselin’s ex-husband Jon Gosselin is weighing in on the cancellation of Kate’s reality television show “Kate Plus Eight,” telling her to get a real life, not a reality life.
Kate is facing the unemployment line after Bravo canceled her reality show, which has been punctuated by Kate’s outbursts and diva-like behavior.
Jon and Kate were involved in a very public divorce that was documented by the reality show. At the time, Kate seem to have won the public relations battle against her ex.
But now the tables seem to have been turned. Kate has been criticized for diva-like behavior.
They separated in June 2009 and the divorce was finalized that December.
Jon was written out of the show and for a time he tried to pursue his celebrity lifestyle by making appearances and looking into other reality shows.
But he’s since returned to a “normal” life as a computer technician and he is urging Kate to do the same.
Kate said earlier this week she is “freaking out” about not having a job to provide for her eight children.
Jon, however, is paying child support.
“Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life – a simple life,” he advised his ex.
“Things will work out the way they should work out,” he said. “Obviously, there are families out there that have several kids – people work normal jobs, and things work out.”
Kate is looking for other celebrity opportunities and said she is interested in producing a reality show that might not star her.
Bravo said Kate also would be brought back for specials from time to time.
So far, Kate has showed no signs of giving up her celebrity lifestyle.
She said she can’t go back to her previous job as a nurse because it involves 12-hour shifts.
