“Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson pays homage to his trademark hoodie in a series of new outtakes that have gone viral. Rob is nothing if not photogenic. But does he have the face to play a villain?
Pattinson just finished shooting his latest film “Cosmopolis” with Director David Cronenberg and an all-star cast that includes Sarah Gadon, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton and Jay Baruchel.
The film is an adaption of Don DeLillo’s “Bonfire of the Vanities” take on a billionaire who sets out in his limo to get a haircut and sees his world turned upside down.
While girlfriend Kristen Stewart continues to film her latest project “Snow White and the Huntsman” in London, Rob is officially between films and has no projects in the pipeline.
Which is probably just as well for him, since he’s been filming almost non-stop since he became an international phenomenon as Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” series.
Obviously enjoying his down time, Rob dropped in on Kristen in London last week to spend some time together.
The two are expected to hit the road soon to start promoting “Breaking Dawn: Part 1.” The latest trailer, the most detailed yet of the movie is already out.
Meanwhile, Rob was the subject of a flood of tabloid speculation that he was up for a part as King Arthur in a movie titled “Pendragon,” which was the legendary king’s surname.
Less reliable outlets like HollywoodLife reported that Rob “allegedly” had been signed for the movie.
“Unfortunately for HollywoodLife (as well as Pattinson fans eager for post-Cosmopolis project news), there’s no truth to the Pendragon rumor,” according to GossipCop.
Rob reportedly wants to move away from roles that peg him as a “heartthrob” and is looking for meatier parts in which he might even play a villain.
In “Remember Me,” Rob played a tragic hero. And in “Water for Elephants,” he played another sympathetic character.
But “Bel Ami,” gives him his first taste villainy. He plays a ruthless lover intent on social climbing in Paris.
