Kristen Stewart’s Snow White is not for the faint of heart. She plays a fierce warrior in a pitch battle with Charlize Theron’s really evil looking queen, according to a newly released trailer.
The 1:51 clip provides the first glimpse of a world unlike any other Snow White fairy tale has ever imagined. The action-adventure fantasy film looks fast paced and heavy on period costumes.
Theron may well steal the film from Stewart, who has received most of the publicity during filming.
Her portrayal of the evil queen, who thrives on the misery of her subjects, is eerie and alluring at the same time.

“Beauty is my power,” the queen says.
The fairy tale kicks off like the original Brothers Grimm story when the evil queen stares into a magic mirror and asks who is the fairest in the land.
In this case, the mirror dissolves into liquid metal and reforms as a soothsayer.
“You are the fairest of them all, but there is another destined to surpass you.”
The scene cuts to Stewart looking ravishing in a forest clearing.
“Consumer her heart and you shall last forever,” the mirror says.
The queen dispatches the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) to murder Snow White and return with her heart.
“Lips red as blood; hair dark as night. Bring me her heart,” she orders.
But the Huntsman takes pity on the fair maiden and unites with her to battle the evil queen and her magic.
The movie looks like it will be a powerful portrayal of medieval lore with the same look and feel as the 1981 dramatic fantasy “Excalbur,” a re-telling of the Legend of King Arthur.
The film was noted for its rich imagery, and Snow White looks like it will deliver on that score.
