Ryan Gosling’s fans are ripping up their People magazines for choosing Bradley Cooper as the “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2011, saying the 6’1″ Canadian hottie is far sexier and had a boffo year at the box office to boot.
Gosling, 31, one of 122 others singled out by the magazine, along with Chris Evans, Liam Hemsworth and Jason Momoa and a slew of others.
But being among the sexiest and not the is irking his fans.
Gosling should have one the honor because he starred in three, critically acclaimed films this year, “The Ides of March,” “Drive and Crazy” and Stupid, Love.”
Fans say he also has a better 6-pack than the ripped 6’1″ Bradley.
One Canadian blog is especially outraged:
“We are shocked, bamboozled, perplexed! People magazine crowned Bradley Cooper the “Sexiest Man Alive” today, and while he’s mighty cute and all, we had our money on Canadian hunk Ryan Gosling.
“Cooper is swoon-worthy, as proven by his French-speaking ability, but his only credits for 2011 include ‘The Hangover Part II’ and ‘Limitless.’
“There’s nothing wrong with that, per se, but in the film world, 2011 was the year of the Gos,” it said.
“He looked dapper in a suit, sexy in a satin jacket, and freaking unbelievable with no shirt on (it’s like he’s digitally altered or something!).”
Meanwhile, George Clooney, ever the jokester and Ryan’s co-star in “The Ides of March,” said he really wanted the “Sexiest Man” title (which he’s won twice: 2006 and 2009).
“[Gosling] really wants it,” George, 50, told reporters at the LA premiere of ‘Descendants” yesterday (Nov. 15).
“He’s been saying…the whole time we were on the set of ‘Ides,’ he was like, ‘How did you pull that off?’
“So I called up Brad Pitt (also a two-time winner) and we worked with him for weeks on the walk…We told him how to train…everything.”
Alas, maybe next year.
