Despite her “Twilight” fame, Kristen Stewart has stuck famously to her roots and largely blown off the Hollywood scene, and now some in Tinseltown are returning the favor. They’re refusing to work with her.
Her acting ability isn’t at issue–well maybe to some it is. Rather, Stewart has scared off Hollywood’s legion of stylists, who make a big living by making stars look good.
While some divas such as singers Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez spend as much as $80,000 a week on hair, makeup and beauty treatments, Kristen prefers jeans, sneakers and tee-shirts when she’s not acting.
The grunge look doesn’t get them paid in Hollywood, so some stylists are now dissing the 21-year-old raven-haired beauty and calling her a “fashion pariah.”
“She has grubby nails, ratty sneakers and bad attitude,” one stylist tells Star magazine, not always the most reliable source of celebrity gossip.
“Very few people want to work with her because she doesn’t want to look good,” the source said.
If some stylists are refusing to work with Kristen, the same can’t be said for top designers.
In a series of magazine photo shoots and red carpet appearances, she’s dressed like the Hollywood star she’s become.
She’s been photographed wearing such high-end clothing as Chanel and Alexander McQueen.
Also add to the list designs from Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, Elie Saab, Herve Leger, Dolce & Gabbana, Proenza Schouler and Roland Mouret.
So someone must be giving her fashion advice. What’s more, she looks absolutely stunning.
Last August, she appeared in fashion bible W magazine, channeling late-actress Elizabeth Taylor in a stunning photo shoot.
Since then, she’s appeared in similar shoots for Glamour magazine, GQ magazine, and Vogue’s Italian edition.
She’s looked equally glamourous on the red carpet at “Breaking Dawn, Part 1,” premieres with boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
She wore a stunning Roberto Cavalli gown for the London premiere and a J. Mendel dress split to the thigh at the LA premiere.
