Justin Bieber is going from the sales floor to the shop floor in his latest video off his Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe.
The Bieb belts out Christmas chestnut, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” while half-mechanized, half-human workers crank out Christmas toys between bouts of spontaneous break dancing.
Santa’s workshop is a cross between Charles Dickens and Edward Scissorhands.
The heavy machinery hisses and blows steam while heavy gears churn and hand-powered mechanical stamps press out toys.
Justin looks up from a blast of welder’s smoke, pulls off his safety goggles and busts out in song, wearing a glove that could have been cast off from “Ironman.”
The message is almost as mixed as Bieber’s earlier “All I Want For Christmas,” video.
He sang a duet with a slinky Mariah Carey, dressed as a lecherous, scantily clad Mrs. Santa Claus.
The video was shot in and around Macy’s flagship store in Manhattan, and Justin drew some heat for what critics called a big Macy’s commercial.
But the store is so synonymous with Christmas movies and specials going back decades that Justin gets a pass on that one.
Most of the action in the current video takes place while Bieber, wearing a sort of hipster elf outfit sings, dances and takes a turn at the drums.
