Rihanna’s European tour has sparked another racially tinged incident only days after she was confronted by a racial epithet spewing guest at her hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.
The 23-year-old singer was the subject of an article in Dutch magazine Jackie that described her as “the ultimate n—- b—-” who gladly displays her “half-naked” “ghetto a–” on stage,” according to AOL music.
Rihanna responded on Twitter with a message directed at Jackie editor-in-chief Eva Hoeke.
“I hope u can read English, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!!” she wrote.
“You ran out of legit, civilized information to print!,” Rihanna added. “There are 1000’s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article.
“Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders, to act in the past!” she added.
You put two words together, with the intent of abasement, that made no sense …”N—- B—-“?! …Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you … F— YOU!!!”
Hoeke posted an apology on Facebook in the face of heated criticism over the wording, which she called a “bad joke.” She also tendered her resignation.
“I realize that these errors — although not intended maliciously — are enough reason for leaving,” she added.
In a separate incident in Lisbon, Rihanna had a chance encounter with “the most racist” man she’d ever met, she Tweeted.
“I just met the most racist c**t EVER!!!
“This man said the craziest s**t about black women – called us dogs, sl**s, we don’t look like s**t, we don’t belong in the same hotels.
“Needless to say, the #N**** in me came out! Bajan accent and all! Lol! Turns out the hotel manager’s black.”
“Oh and he had the NERVE to diss black people in his tighty whitey’s!!!! SMH (shake my head)…and tbh (to be honest) a lil’ black wouldn’t hurt him.”
The tour wraps up Dec, 22 at the O2 Arena in London.
