Miley Cyrus has hit bottom in the eyes of a conservative “culture” group. Her close encounter with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth’s obscene birthday cake sent the group over the edge. You won’t believe what it said.
The Culture and Media Institute says it’s mission is to “preserve and help restore America’s culture, character, traditional values, and morals against the assault of the liberal media elite.” How Miley fits the definition of media elite is puzzling.
In any event, the former Disney teen queen was slammed for getting funky with a penis shaped cake. Miley posed with her mouth agape and her tongue wagging at the confection. That was enough to be called “disgusting,” according to an article published today on its Web site.
Cyrus, the group said, has “become the epitome of the anti-role model for young girls.” The group has long had Miley in its sights and has even come up with a name for her influence on teens. It’s called the “Miley Cyrus Effect.”
Miley’s racy behavior, the group charges, causes “young girls to act like trashy adults.” Cyrus has long cringed at being called a role model and has called on parents to be the role models for their children.
The group sees an even bigger problem with liberal Hollywood, which “seems to delight in depicting women as sex-starved creatures in its movies… Given the sleaze of so much of what Hollywood produces, such behavior is unsurprising,” it said.
“Movies like ‘Bachelorette’ and disgusting behavior like Cyrus’ may be part of the ‘real world’ of Hollywood, where casual sex is celebrated and frequent divorce is almost a rite of passage. But it is not the real world, because in the real world, sleazy behavior has consequences,” the group said.
The “Bachelorette,” starring Kirsten Dunst and Lizzy Caplan, was recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is about girls who get as raunchy as the guys to celebrate an upcoming wedding.
