Heidi Klum has left it to estranged husband Seal to handle damage control over their failed marriage after three children. Klum, meanwhile, surfaced in a new magazine photo shoot.
Klum’s featured in the UK edition of InStyle magazine was painfully ironic because she gave the interview before her break up and went on at length about her marriage to the UK soul singer.
“I’m determined to mark our wedding every year with a really great party. We all work very hard and time goes by so fast and you can stumble over years without symbolic peaks in your life to remember — so we create those,” Klum said.
When she asked how much she loved Seal, she was just as effusive. “I don’t know why we work, my husband and I. We just do. We are black and white — Yin and Yang. To me, his beautiful face, great body, amazing heart, voice, his ability to be a loving, caring person and father…what can I say?” she said.
But the happy talk concealed private strains in the relationship. They included growing apart, violent arguments, Seal’s explosive temper and his partying. Career jealousy may also have played a role as Heidi’s soared, while Seal’s fell into the background.
Meanwhile, the singer, who is on the road promoting his new album Seal 2, has also been fielding questions about the collapse of his marriage. He appeared on Access Hollywood with Billy Bush this morning (Jan. 27).
Seal confirmed the pair have put family first and told their children – Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2, what is going on.
“We talk to them, we tried to explain, as best we could, what is going on,” said Seal, who was wearing his wedding ring.
“The discord?” Billy asked.
“Just explaining to them that things will be different, you know, without going into too much detail,” Seal replied. “[That] things will be different… but a lot of things won’t change.
On the possibility of a reconciliation Seal was non-committal. “There is nothing to reconcile. We haven’t fallen out,” the singer explained. “We’re not getting divorced. We’re not even legally separated. We are separated.”
“The reality of the situation is we have grown apart. And so… is there a chance of us getting back together? Honestly, Billy, I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that.”
