Adele to Launch Artist's Den 2012 With 'Turning Tables' (listen!) 1UK singer Adele, who is sweeping the universe with he angelic voice, will kick off the fourth season of “Live from the Artists Den,” the public broadcasting show that showcases musicians in what the show calls “non-traditional settings.”

Adele, aka Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, skyrocketed to success after she was discovered on MySpace in 2006. Her debut album 19 in 2008 went four times platinum in the UK. She was introduced to U.S. audiences on “Saturday Night Live” in the same year.

Her second album 21 was released in the U.S. last year and was No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts longer than any album since 1998. It was certified 14 times platinum in the UK. As of June 2011, Adele had sold 2.5 million copies and 992,000 digital downloads of 21 in the United States.

Adele’s tour of the United States was cut short by a bout of laryngitis and she was forced to undergo vocal cord microsurgery to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage from a benign polyp, according to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was operated on.

She’s expected to make a full recovery, and the Feb. 3 PBS show will be one of the first where U.S. audiences get to see her again. The show will also feature the Fray, Death Cab for Cutie, Iron and Wine and Amos Lee with special guests Calexico, according to Spinner.

Adele performs “Turning Tables” at the Santa Monica Bay Woman’s Club in California for the show.

“Nothing in life moves me as much as being on stage does,” Adele said. “I love the closeness of playing in small rooms, and this room was lovely and simple, just beautiful.”
