Reese Witherspoon has a sense of humor like a loaded gun; sometimes it goes off when she least expects it. This time her target was pop sensation Justin Bieber. She questions his manliness… in a very funny way.
Witherspoon was being interview on MTV when the conversation drifted to a question about her thoughts on Bieber’s interest in a remake of one of her movies, the 1996 thriller “Fear.”
The movie, which also starred Mark Wahlberg, William Petersen, Amy Brenneman and Alyssa Milano, is about a psychopathic boyfriend, who stalks Witherspoon’s character after she breaks up with him and leaves a trail of violence and murder.
The film was a moderate success, grossing $20 million, triple its budget. But it was largely panned by critics. Why Bieber would be interested in a remake with him starring in it is a mystery. But he’s reported to be obsessed with the idea. Even Reese seemed surprised.
“Fine. Great. That would be cool,” said the 35-year-old actress. “Would he be playing me or Mark Wahlberg?” Ouch?
Was she suggesting that Bieber could play a girl? After some nervous laughter, Reese did her best to clarify.
“Is it like a girl who harasses the family, like a stalker who can’t leave him alone? That would be good,” she said. “I mean girls get crazy about him.”
Witherspoon certainly has no hard feelings. “What a sweetheart,” she said later in the interview.
Could Bieber’s interest in the movie have anything to do with his own stalker, baby mama Mariah Yeater? The San Diego woman says Bieber fathered her child during a backstage tryst at one of his concerts in Los Angeles.
Yeater’s lawyer has accused Bieber of stonewalling on a paternity test to prove or disprove the allegation. Check out the video below.
