Whitney Houston died from powerful cocktail of prescription drugs and alcohol, and not from drowning as had originally been suspected. She was found submerged in a tub of water in her room. Now the focus has shifted to daughter Bobby Christina.
The Los Angeles County Coroner has reportedly told close family members that Houston, 48, did not have enough water in her lungs to die from drowning. She is believed to have died from the drugs before her head slipped under the water.
The sequence of events has devastated Houston’s daughter. The two had a very close bond. Christina, 18, has been hospitalized twice since her mom’s death and is reportedly on a suicide watch, according to gossip site TMZ.
The teenager was rushed to the hospital after passing out from a mix of alcohol and sedatives. She was spotted being wheeled out of the Beverly Hilton where her mother had died. She was being treated for extreme anxiety.
Reports conflict on Houston’s state of mind in the 48 hours leading up to her death. She was photographed looking confused and disheveled after leaving a club early Friday (Feb. 10) morning. But friends who were with her said she seemed in good spirits.
Kelly Price hosted the Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For The Love Of R&B Grammy Party, Thursday night and spent the evening with Houston. She said this morning that reports Houston had been on a binge were wrong.
They had been dancing and singing into the early hours of the morning, she said.
