Bobbi Kristina is greeted with a big hug from Oprah Winfrey before her interview to talk about the sudden death of her mother, Whitney Houston, according to a new promo.
Oprah scored the coup because she became friends with Houston after her frank 2009 interview with the singer. This interview, however, looks like it will be far less candid.
In the new, 30-second promo for the upcoming show, Bobbi gives Oprah a warm embrace. Bobbi reportedly trusts the talk show host to be fair and respectful and to avoid any questions about her own drug use or behavior following her mother’s death.
According to reports at the time, Bobbi had to be hospitalized twice because of the grief she was going through, but was later reportedly caught doing drugs in a hotel room.
Last year, she was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol after she was caught at the scene of a brawl in Georgia that reportedly involved gun play. She was also reportedly photographed snorting cocaine.
A source close to Bobbi said the teenager has been assured that Oprah won’t ask any questions that paint her in a “negative light.”
Bobbi reportedly feels Oprah “was loyal” to her mother and “never did my mother wrong, or made her look bad.” Winfrey attended the funeral.
Winfrey will also interview Houston’s sister-in-law and manager, Patricia Houston, and brother Gary Houston.
The interview will air on Winfrey’s cable channel, OWN, following a special, “Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview.” It will feature Oprah’s 2009 interview and her on remembrances of the star.
The network has been struggling with poor ratings since its launch.
