Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were all business on the “black carpet” for the Breaking Dawn, Part 2 premiere in Los Angeles last night (Nov 12). They were only together long enough to pose for a few photographs before each went their own way to greet fans and give interviews.
The “Twilight” stars arrived separately in their own black SUVs, but apparently traveled in tandem. The arrived one car behind the other at the event.
The premiere for the final film in the “Twilight” saga was the first time the two were seen together in public. The event was anxiously awaited by “Twilight” fans hoping to determine how well they were getting along.
Twilight Fans, Stars Unite One Last Time
Neither has spoken publicly about their reconciliation in the wake of Stewart’s affair with married Director Rupert Sanders. As a result some have a questioned whether they are engaging in a “showmance” to help promote the film.
They apparently decided to keep things business-like outside the theater in front of the cameras and showed no overt signs of affection. They handled interviews separately and worked the throngs of fans separately, although they stayed in close proximity to each other for part of the time.
Stewart was dressed in a stunning nude-color sheer gown reportedly designed by Zuhair Murad. Her shoes were by Jimmy Choo.
Surprisingly, or perhaps not so, she wasn’t wearing a dress by her signature designer Balenciaga. Her close friend, Balenciaga Fashion Director Nicolas Ghesquière, was ousted from the company last week.
Pattinson wore an odd emerald green hounds-tooth suit, a light grey shirt and charcoal tie. He seemed to be in good spirits. He spent a lot of time signing autographs, as did Stewart. And, he joked with interviewers.
They were joined on the black carpet by most of the Breaking Dawn, Part 2 Cast, including Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Dakota Fanning and many of the new vampires introduced in the final film. They included Angela Sarafyan and Erik Odom.
Other “Twilight” stalwarts spotted on the black carpet included Peter Facinelli, Michael Sheen, Elizabeth Reaser and Jackson Rathbone. Author Stephenie Meyer said there are no plans for a sequel just yet.
The overriding sentiment was bittersweet among cast members. The premiere was like a reunion for many of the stars and also a chance to thank the saga’s loyal fans one more time.
“Thank you guys so much! Thanks for waiting in the cold. This is very embarrassing…Hope you enjoy the movie!” said Rob.
