Taylor Swift showed why she’s won six Grammy Awards and sold over 22 million albums with a knockout performance on Fox’s X-Factor last night (Nov. 15). She belted out “State of Grace” off her new album.
Swift’s fourth studio album Red was released last month. Her previous album, Speak Now, was released in 2010. All four are multi-platinum.
The 22-year-old country queen was conservatively dressed in a white-and-black blouse with a tuxedo front and button-up collar and figure-hugging black pants. She also wore a black fedora.
She opened the subtle ballad accompanied by an acoustic guitar. But the stage exploded in lights and a full band joined in as she hit the chorus. Swift worked the stage as the song went up tempo. Her fans chimed in with screams.
“Great job,” said co-host Khloe Kardashian as she took the stage and approached Swift. When Khloe asked her for advice for the contestants on the show, she kept it practical.
“I think the advice I would give them is just, no matter how tired [you are], what kind of bad day you’re having, just be nice to people, you know?” she said.
Swift’s personal life has had its ups and downs and many of her songs are based on her many relationships. She reportedly broke it off with her most recent boyfriend Conor Kennedy. But other reports claim they are seeing each other on the sly.
