Lena Dunham’s Hannah doe some soul-searching in a new preview for Season 2 of HBO’s “Girls. That is, when she and cast mates Allison Williams (Marnie), Jemima Kirke (Jessa) and Zosia Mamet (Shoshanna) aren’t bed hopping,
Hannah gets a lot luckier this time around. After suffering through a unfulfilling relationship with Adam (Adam Driver) in Season 1, she’s bedding a new housemate, Elijah, played by Andrew Rannells.
Adam, her aloof ex-lover, now desperately wants Hannah back. He seems ready to go to any lengths to get her, including some thinly veiled cyber-stalking.
He posts a video singing about his broken heart, while Hannah and Elijah watch in disbelief. “This is what happens when you break up with a sociopath,” she advises. When Adam really starts stalking her, alarm bells go off.
“What if he’s murder-y in a murder way?” she frets.
Fetching Marnie has double trouble, no boyfriend, no job. As if that’s not bad enough her mother, played by Rita Wilson, complains she’s dressing way older than her age. “You look 30 years old,” she exclaims over lunch. Marnie can only wince.
Sexy Jessa is still in the clouds over her whirlwind marriage to venture capitalist Thomas-John, played by Chris O’Dowd. They tied the knot in a surprise wedding at the end of Season One.
Shoshanna, meanwhile, has found the loss of her virginity empowering. Will she finally come out of her shell? The season debuts Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
