Mariah Carey added the lights, the tinsel and the ornaments to Jimmy Fallon’s opening Christmas skit last night (Dec. 4). She belted out “All I Want for Christmas Is You” while The Roots provided backup with toy instruments. But Cary’s incomparable voice made it sound like a symphony.
The skit was definitely better than the pop diva’s creepy duet with Justin Bieber last year to promote his first Christmas song album.
Fallon also performed a similar cute song with Carly Rae Jepsen, who sang her hit “Call Me, Maybe” on the show in June.
Carey wore a skimpy, borderline inappropriate Mrs. Santa Claus outfit that would have been better suited for an Eighth Avenue hooker. Justin couldn’t help staring at her breasts as he bounded into Macy’s flagship store in Manhattan, where the video was shot.
Last night’s scene with Fallon and the band dressed in festive garb against a backdrop of Christmas ornaments and decorations. Jimmy kept the feel homey by jumping up to adjust the digital video camera, as if they were filming a home movie.
Fallon led off the song with the opening refrain playing a toy keyboard. “Make my wish come true, All I want for Christmas is you.”
Carey sidled into the picture, wearing a floor length red dress that also showed ample cleavage. But it was far more appropriate than her Bieber outfit. In any event, she sat down next to Fallon and began to rock out on the song like only she can.
A little kids quartet accompanied her on the chorus. Check out the video below and click here to follow TheImproper on Twitter for more all the latest music updates.
