Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made love and war in “Breaking Dawn, Part 2,” and a new featurette from the upcoming DVD release provides some interesting insights into how those scenes were shot.
The video, which aired on Entertainment Tonight includes outtakes of Rob cracking up during the love scene
Rob, Kristen and Ashley Greene also talk about some of the serious stunts they performed for the Cullen’s epic battle against the Volturi. It wasn’t all smooth sailing.
The video opens with Greene being hoisted in the air by a series of cables, pulleys and harnesses. She comes crashing down on a Volturi against a green screen, which allows the background to be added digitally later.
“I know there’s a stunt sequence. I’m in the gym training by myself to make sure I’m up to it,” Greene says in the commentary. “I get into it. I have a marshal arts background and so whatever they’ll let me do, I’ll do.” Which turns out to be a lot.
Kristen also want to do as many of her own stunts as possible. Flying through the air suspended by cables took some getting use to, however. Kristen is pictured squealing a few times as she flies through the air.
“I get to do a lot of stuff. I get to fly around on a wire, kick people, rip off a head,” she said.
“She loved it,” added Director Bill Condon. “She’s like Taylor [Lautner], she’s like pis*ed off when a double has to do it.”
Rob is also shown in action, but he has troubles of his own trying to do a somersault in tandem with Kristen.
Condon also explained how the love scene between Bell and Edward was filmed, and why it was different from their first love scene in “Breaking Dawn, Part 1.”
“What I like when they get into that bedroom, it’s all about the bed,” he laughs. Check out the video below to find out what he means by that, and be sure to follow TheImproper on Twitter for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart updates you can trust.
