Chris Brown made headlines, lots of them, when he beat up Rihanna in 2009 and since that’s where NBC rips ideas for its “Law & Order” shows, it was only a matter of time before the case was featured. But what audacity!

The show will air next Wednesday (Feb. 28) at at a time when Brown and his love-struck dishrag have gotten back together in Hawaii.

Rihanna is celebrating her 25th birthday in the Pacific islands and Brown has been gracious enough to leave his other girlfriend, Kerruche Tran, long enough to spend some quality time with his go-to girl.

Only the week before, Brown was in Houston banging Tran during NBA All-Star week. But that’s the way it goes when you’re a mega-rich musician.

Besides, the last time they were dating, Rihanna flew into a jealous rage when she discovered text messages from another woman on Brown’s phone, leading to her severe beatdown. She’s not going to make that mistake, again. She’ll take what she can get.

Chris Brown Loses It in Alleged Fight Over Parking Space

In any event, NBC released a promo today (Feb. 21) for the upcoming episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” And there’s no question where the writers got their inspiration. It closely mirror’s Rihanna’s abusive relationship with Brown.

The show is described as a “familiar story of two celebrities, intertwined by abuse.” The scene is a dead-on take, complete with ugly tabloid newspaper photos that mirror Rihanna’s turn in the tabloids.

Rihanna, Chris Brown Finally Keep Their Grammy Date

The show, however, takes the scenario to what many think may still be the ultimate conclusion to their tempestuous relationship. We could tell you what that is (it begins with “M”) but watch the video for yourself and let us know what you think.

Footnote: The promo carries the following disclaimer: “the preceding story was fictional; no actual person or event was depicted.” (Yeah, right)
