She only got off one show in Buffalo, New York last Friday, before canceling follow-up appearances in Boston and Baltimore. No word yet on whether those shows will be rescheduled.
Concert promoter Live Nation told fans to hold onto their tickets pending a rescheduling of show dates. The promoter advised that “Rihanna was still recovering.”
But she didn’t just limp around the stage. She gave a high-energy performance that included several costume changes and a retinue of her classic hits. She wore a jumpsuit with a plunging neckline, a two-piece red dress with a long maxi-skirt and a mini-dress.
Rihanna was heartbroken by the cancellations. “#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we’ve been waiting on this day forever, and I’m hurt that I let you down.”
“I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!! I’m so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes! #DWT,” she added.
Rihanna is definitely one of the hardest working singers in show business. She’s produced almost an album a year for the last seven years and has toured relentlessly.
“Thank you so much, tonight was an incredible experience,” she told the crowd. “I will never forget this show, ever. I can’t wait to come back here. Philadelphia, I will always come back here.”
Maybe, she just needs to cut back on those nasty blunts she smokes in all those Instagram photos. The 27-city tour arrives in New York today. She’s supporting her seventh album, Unapologetic.
