So is this a sell out, or what?
Both Rob and girlfriend Kristen Stewart have talked frequently about maintaining their “integrity.” They said they wanted to avoid commercial blockbusters in favor of small, but artistically significant indie films.
On the other hand, he’s reportedly getting $8 million to appear in a video for the company touting their new clothes. That’s on top of a $12 million deal last year to front for the French fashion house’s fragrance line, according to London’s Sun.
“The advert is sexually explicit,” a Dior source told The Sun. “It is pushing the boundaries of what you can get away with in advertising.”
“Robert is topless for part of it and kissing one of the models,” the source said. He’s filmed with three models.
Well that’s just grand. The advertising board in Britain has been cracking down on sexually provocative ads. It’s sure to be cringe-worthy after Rob took a stand on integrity and swore off posing.
Rob began modeling at 12, but work dried up after he matured and lost his androgynous look. “When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs,” he recounted in an interview with New York magazine.
“Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modelling career,” he said.
Rob did several underwear campaigns in his early teens. His latest work for Dior will be released in May.
Rob just wrapped up filming “The Rover” last weekend and is back in Los Angeles. He was spotted out with Kristen Stewart at a karaoke bar on Tuesday, putting to rest all the fake tabloid churn about their relationship crumbling. The following night they were also spotted at a birthday party Katy Perry threw for one of her assistants.
