Taylor Swift’s whirlwind romance with Conor Kennedy, the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., drew a biting rebuke from Caroline Kennedy today during a CBS News interview.
Caroline, 54, daughter of President John F. Kennedy and cousin Maria Schwarzenegger, 56, are reportedly out to torpedo Conor’s relationship with the 22-year-old singer. Maria is reportedly wise to Taylor because Swift also allegedly made a play for her son, Patrick.
“Many of the Kennedys loathe Taylor and don’t want anything to do with her,” a Kennedy family insider told The National Enquirer.
Taylor Swift ‘Love Story’ Lyrics
Here are lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song that make a reference to Romeo as mentioned by Caroline Kennedy. Her fling with Conor almost seems like she’s acting out the music video. Check it out below.
I see you make your way through the crowd
And say hello, little did I know
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you please don’t go, and I said
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I’ll be waiting all there’s left to do is run
You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess
It’s a love story baby just say yes
Caroline appeared for an early morning interview on “CBS News” with Charlie Rose, who baited her about the heated romance. The conversation started with a discussion of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. But ended with Swift.
“Are you listening to any Taylor Swift songs these days?” Rose asked.
Her cryptic reply was: “Romeo, Romeo… When I think about Mitt Romney, only.” Ouch..! That was not nice. She hates Romney.
She may have been referencing Swift’s track “Love Story.” Romeo is mentioned in the lyrics. But it’s all about heartbreak, and family members who come between two lovers. Caroline was dead-on target.
Swift got off on the wrong foot with part of the family when she ignored Victoria Gifford Kennedy’s pleas to stay away from her daughter’s wedding because of the spectacle she might create. Of course, Taylor went anyway.
But the bar to entry to the Kennedy clan may not as high as it seems. “If she wants to be in the family, she’s already a part of it,” former Congressman Patrick Kennedy told gossip site TMZ. “We love Taylor Swift … she’s been a great friend and we’re happy for Conor,” he added.
Swift reportedly wants to get married soon and have Conor’s baby, but that seems far fetched. For one, Conor’s only 18 and still in high school. Of course, they do marry young in Tennessee. Other reports claim that Swift wants to be the next Jacqueline Kennedy.
Apparently not if Caroline has her say. Check out the clip below, and for more photos check out INFDaily. Follow TheImproper on Twitter here for more Taylor Swift updates.
