Kim Kardashian Desperate for Film Career; Will Hollywood Embrace Her? 2Kim Kardashian has everything she could want in life, except credibility and respect. She appears to think she can get both by establishing herself as a film star. But will Hollywood embrace her?

Kim wore her ambition on her sleeve at rapper Jay-Z’s Made in America Festival in Philadelphia.

She was reportedly scolded by Beyonce for pushing her way in front of cameras there to film a Ron Howard documentary about Jay-Z and lobbying for a movie role.

“Kim was desperate for attention in the VIP area and was getting in the way of cameras that were supposed to be filming Jay-Z,” a source at the festival told gossip site radaronline.

“Kim kept saying she was a huge fan of Howard and would love to be cast in one of his films.”

Kim has built her career around reality television, which by definition, isn’t supposed to involved acting. No matter how successful they’ve been, she’s become a symbol of someone who is without talent, merely famous for being famous.

The latest tweak from Hollywood came last week, when a rep for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said the reality personality would never qualify for a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Part of the criteria in being honored is receiving awards such as Emmy’s, SAG Awards, Oscars etc.,” a Chamber rep told The Hollywood Reporter. “They have to have a career in the business of acting for five years or more.”

Whatever Kim does, the Chamber made clear, it isn’t acting.

The slight comes on top of a series of slams by actors John Hamm, Jeremy Renner and Kristen Stewart, who are repelled by Kardashian’s constant pursuit of publicity and lack of any discernible talent.

Kim made some inroads on Hollywood last October by landing a part in Tyler Perry’s new film “The Marriage Counselor.” Perry received so much criticism for casting her, he was compelled to respond on Twitter. Surprisingly, most of the complaints came from women.

Before that she had small part in 2009’s “Deep in the Valley” and a year before that in the parody, “Disaster Movie.” She also appeared in the surf show, “Beyond The Break,” and an episode of “CSI: NY” in 2009.

But there’s no guarantee, landing movie roles will give her the respect she so desperately wants from Hollywood. Her experience with fashion is a case in point.

Kardashian is widely viewed as a fashion icon, with her own clothing line and fashion botiques. But she’s anathema among fashionistas. Kim was reportedly banned from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Fashion Gala, one of the industry’s biggest events of the year.

Vogue editor and gala host Anna Wintour personally ordered Kim stricken from the guest list, according to reports.
