Johansson, 27, and Reynolds ended their marriage in 2010, and as late as April this year she said she was still pained by the split. They had been married for two years. The divorce was final on July 1, 2011.
Johansson told Vogue magazine the breakup was “comically amicable,” but still “horrible.”
“Of course it’s horrible. It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn’t work out,” she said. Divorce is “like the loneliest thing you’ll ever do, in some way,” she added.
Lively, 25, and Reynolds, 35, met on the set of 2011 movie “The Green Lantern.” He played Hal Jordan, the test pilot who joins the elite Green Lantern Corps that protects the universe. She played his love interest Carol Ferris, who ran the aircraft company that employed him.
They began dating in October, 2011, but were hot and heavy right off the bat, and bought a Bedford, N.Y. mansion together earlier this year.
The reception took place in a white tent, where Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine performed, according to People, which confirmed the wedding through sources. A cake was driven down from Virginia for the event, and Lively’s mother and sister were spotted as well, the mag reported.
Let’s hope the wedding does better than the movie. It grossed $219.8 million worldwide, according to boxofficemojo. But is considered an under-performer. Industry analysts said the film need to gross around $500 million to be considered successful.
A new “Green Lantern” sequel is being planned that will have the world’s first openly acknowledged gay superhero (not Reynolds).
As for Johansson, she dated actor Sean Penn, 51, for about five months last year. She most recently was dating advertising executive Nate Naylor, but was spotted getting close to old flame Jared Leto at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, according to reports.
