Alison Pill plays a savvy journalist on HBO’s new show “The Newsroom,” but she’s all thumbs when it comes to deleting nude photos from her cellphone. At least that’s how she explains tweeting a topless photo. Just a mistake.
Pill, 26, had a sense of humor about the incident, and quickly deleted the photo. But not quickly enough.
It’s gone viral on the Internet, much to the delight of her fans. “Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently,” she tweeted by way of explanation.
Allison Pill Comfortable in Bed
Allison Pill fumbled with her cell phone trying to delete a topless photo and sent it out over Twitter instead. Oops! Click photo to enlarge. See an uncensored version here (nsfw).
The photo, which Pill apparently snapped herself, shows her lying on her back in bed from the waist up. She’s wearing black-framed geek glasses and, well, nothing else.
She said she was trying to delete the photo from her phone and accidentally tweeted it. She may not be totally phone-savvy, but that sounds next to impossible to do “accidentally.”
But her fans aren’t complaining and even her finace, actor Jay Baruchel is taking he whole thing in stride. “My fiancée is an hilarious dork. Smartphones will get ya,” he tweeted. “#imjustgladitdidnthappentomefirst,” he added.
Alison, who’s also had roles in “Milk,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” and “Midnight in Paris” plays Maggie on “The Newsroom.” Her character is an associate producer of the nightly news, which requires some technical precision. She obviously isn’t playing to type.
