Lindsay Lohan Cries ‘Set Up’ After Late-Night NYC Car Accident

Lindsay Lohan claims her latest accident, involving allegations she hit a pedestrian on a New York City street, is a set up, and this time she may be right.

New York City is filled with schleps who spy luxury cars and feign being hit, in hopes of collecting a quick settlement, even if its for a few hundred dollars.

What’s more, the car she was driving, a Porsche Cayenne, has parking sensors and a backup camera. The sensors flash lights and a warning buzzer anytime anything gets close to a bumper. The backup camera provides a full view behind the car.

Lindsay was reportedly parking her luxury SUV near the Dream Hotel in downtown Manhattan shortly after midnight, when she allegedly hit the knee of a 30-something year old guy, according to gossip site TMZ.

Lohan, who turned 26 in July, claims she went into the hotel unaware she hit anyone and was arrested as she left around 2:30 a.m. She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor, and released.

The “Mean Girls” actress called the incident “really fishy” and said she intends to fight the charges. No alcohol was reportedly involved. The alleged victim was hospitalized, but had no visible injuries.

There is some confusion over whether Lohan, or one of two men she was riding with, got out of the car at the time of the accident to check for damage. Lohan insists no one did.

The victim, identified as Manhattan cook Jose Rodriguez, told The New York Daily News that Lohan was “slurring” her words and “smelled like alcohol.”

“They acted like I was nothing,” he said. “That no one could touch her because she was rich and powerful.”

Rodriguez said Lohan got out of the car and spoke to him. “I asked, ‘Why did you do that?’ She said, ‘You have to get out of the way.’ She told me I have to move.”

If the case pans out, Lohan could face problems back in California where she is still on parole for her jewelry theft.

One thing is certain, Porsche should pay her not to drive its cars. She’s giving them a bad reputation.
