Johnny Lewis, an actor who starred in TV shows “Sons of Anarchy” and “The O.C.” and used to date Katy Perry, apparently went berzerk and murdered an 81-year-old woman, before dying in an apparent leap, or fall from the roof of the woman’s house.
Lewis, 28, is well known in Hollywood and has worked steadily since he was a teenager in a variety of roles. He’s appeared in nearly a dozen films, including 2010’s “The Runaways” with Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.
He dated Perry in 2006 and was frequently photographed with her at events and about town.
“He appeared to have died from some type of fall, either from the stairway, or from the balcony, or from one of the roofs,” LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told ABC News.
The woman was identified as Catherine Chabot Davis. She apparently owned the sprawling home, and rented out rooms to actors in need of short-term housing. Lewis was thought to be renting.
“I was praying to God. ‘God,’ I said, ‘Clean up this mess here, because this is evil place. All kind of people, by the way, coming, different people, coming, going couple of days, disappearing, coming, other people,” said one neighbor about the house.
The two men, identified so far as a neighbor and a handyman were beaten by Lewis with a piece of wood. Neighbors reported hearing the woman scream and looked on in horror as Lewis attacked two other people, according to gossip site TMZ.
Lewis was found dead by police in the driveway about six feet from the wall. He appeared to have fallen from the wall, according to a report by Los Angeles television station KTLA 5 News.
Police are treating Davis’s death as a homicide and Lewis is the only suspect at this time. Click here to follow TheImproper on Twitter for more updates on Johnny Lewis’s death.
