Katy Perry Croons for Obama at Hollywood Fundraiser (video) 1Katy Perry may have a conservative Christian upbringing, but she’s all Hollywood when it comes to politics. She performed along with Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder and other groups at a fundraiser for President Obama.

Perry’s parents, who are fundamentalist Christians, are backing Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

George Clooney, one of the president’s biggest supporters and 6,000 others gathered for the “30 Days to Victory” rally last night (Oct. 7) in Los Angeles.

Obama was coming off his biggest fundraising month of any presidential candidate for the month of September. He raised more than $180 million, before heading to Hollywood. Tickets for the event ranged from $44 (for the under 40 set) to $250 for everyone else.

Later he went to private fundraisers. DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberger hosted one event at his home and the second was held at Wolfgang Puck’s WP24 restaurant.

In June, the president enlisted the help of Jared Leto and Johnny Galecki from the hit show “The Big Bang Theory,” and sexy Oliva Wilde to raise funds for the president among young Hollywooders. David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky and singer Peter Frampton led the effort, called “Gen44.”

The Obama campaign raised a record-breaking $15 million at a private $40,000 a seat dinner at actor George Clooney’s LA house on May 10. Jay-Z and Beyonce also held a New York City fundraiser at the rapper’s 40/40 Club that raised $4 million.

In New York City, Sarah Jessica Parker also hosted a dinner for the president that drew Manhattan glitterati. And, Mariah Carey hosted a gala at the Plaza Hotel in New York, June 14

At last night’s event, Perry sang “Firework” and “Let’s Stay Together” among other hits. While she sang a large video screen behind her showed images of the president on the campaign trail.
