Taylor Swift’s new single “I Knew You Were Trouble,” looks like yet another shot at her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal. She might as well dedicate her entire upcoming album “Red” to him, or give him a co-writing credit.
Swift gave a preview of her third single from the album this morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” It’s another broken heart song like her two previous releases from the album.
The first song “We’re Never Ever Getting Back Together,” was clearly pegged to the 31-year-old actor. The second song, titled “Red” like the album, likened her heartbreak to driving a Maserati down a dead-end street. Ouch!
Her new song, she said, is one of her favorites on the album “because it sounds just as chaotic as it was when I wrote it.”
“I wrote this song about the fact that some things are just hard to forget because the emotions involved with them were so intense, and to me, intense emotion is red,” she said during a recent interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Well, she still must be feeling it. Her latest song is about “kind of being frustrated with yourself because you have your heart broken and you knew when you first saw that person you saw all these red flags and you just went for it anyway,” she said in a video introduction.
“So shame on me,” she added picking up a line from the song.
Swift has written acerbic break up songs about ex-boyfriends Joe Jonas and John Mayer and recently told Glamour magazine that her fans relate to her music because they’ve had similar experiences.
Her album will debut Oct. 22. Her latest song will be available for download on iTunes at midnight (Oct. 8).
