“Twilight’s” Kristen Stewart showed the same signs of infatuation with another older man that may have led her into an affair with Rupert Sanders, who directed her in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Should Robert Pattinson worry?
The 22-year-old actress appears to be enamored with Nicolas Ghesquière , the strikingly handsome 41-year-old fashion director for Spanish brand Balenciaga.
Ghesquière famously stood by Stewart during the blow up surrounding her cheating scandal with Sanders and quickly batted down rumors that the brand had dropped the “Twilight” actress. But their relationship goes beyond business, according to a new interview in the UK edition of Marie Claire.
Kristen Stewart Revealing in Marie Claire
Titled a somewhat inflammatory, “The Other Man in Kristen’s Life,” the article describes certainly an intellectual affair of the heart if not a sexual one. Although the interview is published in the magazine’s November issue, it was conducted two weeks before news of her affair broke in July.
Stewart seems much more chastened these days, but back then she was described as flirty and rebellious. “Having met her, the affair isn’t surprising in the slightest,” the writer notes. Stewart seems to have a highly developed rebellious streak.”
Ghesquière was present during the interview in a Parisian hotel room. “Not only are Kristen and Ghesquière untouchably (sorry to be repetitive) cool, they share the same piercing blue eyes (hers emerald, his sea blue) and are also proper friends,” writes Alice Olins.
“They finish each other’s sentences, they have in-jokes and the giggle like a pair of carefree lovers,” she adds.
“You meet someone and you recognize them,” Stewart says. “You fu*king recognize them.”
At 22, Stewart appears to have some growing up to do and is grappling with competing forces in her life.
“I’m a miserable c—,” Stewart proclaimed during a separate Q&A with the designer. “I’m not sure if I’m most happy when I’m comfortable and content, or when I’m pushing myself to the limits.”
“There are such different versions of happy,” she continued, “And I really appreciate both.”
Indeed, it’s easy to see how Rob represents one version and Nicholas and Rupert the other. The dashing fashion director is everything Rob isn’t. He’s smooth, debonaire, well-groomed and passionate.
There are rumors that Ghesquière is gay, some say he is bisexual, others straight. The designer has never confirmed his sexuality.
If Rob is intent on getting back with his erstwhile lover, he better get used to Kristen’s infatuations.
