Kanye West continues to strive to make art to go along with his songs. He pulls a new video out of his hat to Bon Iver’s “Lost in the World.” The collaboration with filmmaker Ruth Hogben is a a literal play on smoke and mirrors.

The video plays off reflections in a mirrored floor as first a model appears in what looks like an over-sized tee-shirt. West follows shot from overhead on the same floor.

Kanye, who shies away from media interviews, usually buries a media message in his songs. In “Theraflu,” West dissed Kris Humphries and revealed his infatuation with his estranged wife Kim Kardashian. The two are now dating.

After makers of the cold remedy complained, West changed the name of the song to “Way Too Cold.”

The rapper released a remix of Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” last week and included a line about allegations he roughed up ex-fiancée, Alexis Phifer. He denied ever hitting a woman.

“Lost in the World” is unlikely to contain a similar message because the song is off his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which he released in 2010. The message is more in the telling.

The video also includes a warning about the use of strobe lights, which can trigger seizures in some people. So watch with care.

West is working on his G.O.O.D. Music compilation. Check out the video below.
