Supermodel Brooklyn Decker has slowly but surely been making the transition from modeling to acting, and is set to star in her first big-budget action flick, Battleship.
But the buxom 5’9″ blonde stunner concedes her acting skills still need work. A lot of work.
“I’m still studying to get better,” Brooklyn, 25, tells the Hollywood Reporter. “It goes without saying that I have a lot of room for improvement. Sometimes people are like, ‘Oh, is that girl the model?’ But I think [my modeling background] opened doors. I can’t bite the hand that fed me. Once people give me a chance they realize, ‘OK, she’s here to work.’ ”

Decker, who’s already co-starred in “Just Go With It” (opposite Hollywood heavyweight Jennifer Aniston), also appears in the summer comedy “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” alongside A-listers Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.
Brooklyn, who’s married to tennis star Andy Roddick, really enjoyed strapping on a fake baby bump after years of flaunting her flat abs for the cameras.
“As soon as you strap that belly on, you start protecting your belly,” she says. “You don’t want people to run into you and you start to waddle. It’s funny seeing yourself waddle.”
For now, Decker is happy to leave behind her successful career as a model to become a working actor.
‘People would dismiss me simply because I was a model,” Brooklyn recalls. “So you have to work extra hard hoping that they’ll see something more in you than just the way you look.”
Despite the skeptics, Decker embraces the challenges her new career will bring. “I loved the travel [in modeling] but I didn’t love the work,” she says. “I mean, come on, modelling is only so stimulating!”
