Conservative lawmakers in the country’s capital joined the chorus of protestors, claiming her her sexy clothes and provocative dancing would corrupt the Southeast Asian nation’s youths.
Under pressure from the radicals and conservatives, the government Tuesday (May 15) revoked the permit for her June 3 “Born This Way Ball” concert.
The island nation, with 240 million people, has been under the sway of radical Muslims, despite a history of religious tolerance.

It was supposed to be the biggest show on Lady Gaga’s Asian tour, with fans snapping up every seat in Jakarta’s 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium, according to the Associated Press.
Gaga has run into resistance in other countries, but this is the first time a show has been cancelled. In South Korea, tickets were only sold to teens 18 and older.
