“Harry Potter” film star Emma Watson is the latest Young Hollywood actress to blast Kim Kardashian for her reality television shows, which ironically, helped her prepare for her role in “The Bling Ring.”
To help develop the mindset of a twenty-something slacker who joins up with friends to rob the homes of celebrities, Watson said she spent a lot of time watching reality television.
“I was doing an English course. So I would go from reading Virginia Woolf to Kim Kardashian. I kind of loved it, this mix of super-high and super-low culture. I think it was a nice balance,” she told EW.
Calling Kardashian and her clan “super low culture,” probably won’t sit very well with the reality television star, who likes to believe she lives a very high-end lifestyle.
But Kim has become a pariah among “serious” actors in Hollywood.
Kristen Stewart also slammed Kardashian in Interview magazine for using a sex tape to become famous, calling them fakes, liars and “not honest.”
Boyfriend Robert Pattinson also took a shot at Kardashian when he called her a modern day “Bel Ami,” referring to his character in the period drama, who is a ruthless, untalented, social climber.
His character he said is “basically like being a reality TV star now.”
Stewart was quoting actress Joanne Woodward to describe her reluctance to do press interviews. “Acting is like sex: you should do it, not talk about it,” she said.
That turned the conversation to they way sex, and specifically sex tapes, are being used these days in entertainment. “Oh, I know,” Stewart said.
“But they’re lying while that video is being made,” she added.
“The act is in itself a lie. You’re faking something. The girl is lying there, she’s pretending that she doesn’t know the camera’s on, she’s getting banged, and ‘accidentally’ it leaks out? Everyone leaks their own sex tapes!
“That’s a ploy to get famous—that’s not about the sex. It’s not like when Madonna did her ‘Sex’ book, and it was an artistic endeavor where she acknowledged it and spoke about it and was so upfront about it.
It’s different. It’s not upfront. It’s not honest. It’s a ploy to get famous,” Stewart said.
In “The Bling Ring,” directed by Sofia Coppola, fame obsessed thieves break into the homes of celebrities not only steal valuables but want to get close to the celebrities.
Among those hit were Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr and Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox.
The film has not release date at the moment.
