The new Tiger Woods looked just like the old Tiger Woods for one magical moment on the 16th green today (June 3) during The Memorial tournament in Dublin. His amazing chip-in may mean he’s back. Or maybe not.
Golf is like that, and Tiger has had more than his fair share of struggles since his knee injury and ruinous sex scandal that cost him his marriage to Elin Nordegren and his pristine image.
The former No. 1 golfer is now ranked No. 4 in the world. He seems to be on track to regain his confidence and his swing consistency on the golf course. With shots like the one he made today, he just might also have that Tiger magic back.
What’s more, he came from behind to win the tournament, something he hasn’t done in a while. Woods won his fifth Memorial and tied golf legend Jack Nicklaus with 73 overall career tournament wins.
Even Nicklaus called miracle chip-in the best shot he’d “ever seen here.” It was a clutch shot that tied him for the lead and sparked his rally. Watch below as the announcer makes the call.
