Madonna’s MDNA tour is barely a week old and she’s already caused an international incident with political ramifications in France.
She reportedly portrays National Front leader Marine Le Pen with a Swastika on her forehead.
The image was fleeting but clearly visible. It came during a video montage on a giant screen behind the stage to the song “‘Nobody Knows Me” during an interlude in her performance.
The incident happened last Thursday (May 31) in Tel Aviv, Israel, no less, where memories of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust are still painful and vivid.

The image appeared for a split second in a montage featuring Sarah Palin and Chinese president Hu Jintao, who has been accused of human rights violations, according to Agence France Presse, a Franco news agency.
Le Pen is reportedly considering suing, if Madonna continues showing the image on the French leg of her tour. The far-right political party has been accused of racism, but a party source told London’s Daily Mail, they reject Nazism.
Madonna also raised eyebrows after she gave a lengthy speech calling for peace in the Middle East from the stage while she and her dancers later brandished assault rifles and machine guns during a number.
The Material Girl’s tours have delved into controversy on more than on occasion. Check out the video below. The Nazi symbol appears around the 1:32 mark.
