Snookie (Anna Paquin) got “True Blood’s” premiere off to a twisted, ironic start when she persuaded Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) to turn Tara into a vampire to save her life. Tara comes full circle, plus she detests vampires! But nothing is ever as it seems in Bon Temps.
It’s hard to see where the plot line is going, but Tara is sure to cause trouble as the season develops. And, she at least got back part of her head that was shot off by Debbie Pelts.
Meanwhile, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) are prisoners for killing Nan. They escape and Eric hooks up with his “sister” Nora (Lucy Griffiths). Of course, they’re not brother and sister in the Biblical sense.
They just call each other that because Godric “turned” them. Does that mean they’re free to go at it? Or are they crossing some other Biblical line, not that it matters. They’re vampires, and they share more than sibling love.
And, talk about love triangles. Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) are hooking up, but Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) also has designs on Jason. And you thought he wanted to kill him.
Jason isn’t down with a gay hookup, and Jessica draws the line on that, too. Then she goes and hooks up with a townie at a party. Confusing?
Meanwhile, Terry’s (Todd Lowe) war buddy (Scott Foley) reveals that their troop has been plagued by house fires. Marcus is still dead and will stay that way, thanks to Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Now that he’s the new leader, he leads the pack in chowing down on him. Cannibalism anyone?
Needless to say, the premiere left as many questions as it answered… more actually. What kind of trouble does Tara get into? What happened to Jesus’ body? Is Lafayette possessed? Are Bill and Eric over Sookie? And what about Russell?
