Justin Bieber No Longer a Boy, But Not Yet a Man?

Justin Bieber No Longer a Boy, But Not Yet a Man? 1Did Justin Bieber’s manager just diss the Believe singer, or his he just trying to make sure his job is secure? In a bizarre statement, manager, Scooter Braun, said the teen sensation is “definitely not yet a man.”

Try telling that to Selena Gomez. She’s been dating the 18-year-old for more than a year. By now, she surely thinks he’s a man.

Braun’s statement came in an interview with Billboard magazine. “Adult artist? Just because he’s legal now doesn’t mean he’s an adult,” his manager said.

“He still needs guidance; he’s still finding his way. He’s no longer a boy, but he’s definitely not yet a man,” he added.

Wow. That must make Justin feel good.

Justin’s new album Believe will be released at the end of the month, and the pop singer said it will showcase a new more adult sound for him. Making the move from teen heartthrob to an adult singer is critical for him.

With boy bands like One Direction and The Wanted crowding into the teenie bopper space, it’s up or out for Justin. And, there’s no guarantee it will be up. Other teen idols like David Cassidy and Leif Garrett never made the jump.

Still, many have, and Justin has some advantages that didn’t exist back in the ’70s and ’80s. He’s totally wired in to social media, which gives him instant communication with his fan base.

Justin is definitely feeling the pressure. “I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can’t trust anyone in this business,” Bieber said in the June issue of GQ. “That’s what’s sad. You can’t trust anybody. I learned the hard way.”
