Ashley Greene arrived in Hollywood as a 17-year-old, and to hear the drop-dead gorgeous actress tell it, she just couldn’t find any work. That is, until the “Twilight” film series came along.
“In my second year in Los Angeles, when I was eighteen, I wasn’t getting any bookings,’ she says in new interview in Esquire magazine.
“So I stopped going out, stopped partying. It was a matter of getting to the work. I had to focus.”

She actually auditioned for the role of Bella Swan before Kristen Stewart had that part. One could only wonder what the movie would have been like if she played the introverted high schooler who falls for a 110-year-old vampire.
When she didn’t get the role, she lobbied for another and landed the part of Alice Cullen, Edward’s vivacious sister who has the power to see the near future.
The scene lights up whenever she’s in it. Vampires are supposed to be perfect specimens of beauty, and Greene had no trouble conveying that image. She poses for photographer Brooke Nipar in sexy lingerie for Esquire but could seduce an army of mere mortals with her dark beautiful eyes alone.
Although Alice is a secondary part in the “Twilight” series it gave Greene enough time to showcase her abilities, not to mention her looks. She’s the face of DKNY, and has a slew of new films in the works.
She appeared with Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore in “LOL: Laughing Out Loud,” and will also appear in “A Warrior’s Heart,” with fellow “Twilight” actor Kellan Lutz.
She’s also slated to appear in indie film “Butter” with Hugh Jackman an Olivia Wilde. It’s a quirky tale about a woman who has an unusual talent for carving butter. And, she’ll also provide some eye candy for horror film “The Apparition.”
