“Twilight’s” Kristen Stewart may yet become the new Parker Posey of quirky Indie films. She says she will go to extremes playing a porn star in her next movie, “Cali” with Director Nick Cassavetes.
No word yet on whether she’ll appear nude.
The film is a gritty drama about two conniving adult film stars who create and sell a fake snuff film, showing someone being killed.
The plan is to take the money and run, but Stewart’s character Maya, who fakes her own death, must return to her old stomping grounds to save her little sister. The people whom she pissed off, or ripped off, a homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs and a cowboy assassin, are waiting to exact their revenge.
“I’m going to get into the best shape of my life,” she told WWD magazine. “I’m going to look like a stripper. I’m going to looks like a porn star.”
Stewart, who is best known for her role as Bella Swan in the “Twilight” films, says the film’s script is “extreme in every way.”
“Hopefully… we can do it in the summer, like lock ourselves away for a few weeks in the Valley [in L.A.] in a little production office and get together really weird, freaky actor people,” she told MTV News. “It’s filled with like the coolest characters.”
“I’m from the Valley. It’s been a while since we captured that world and it’s super extreme, everything about it. I think it’s like, it’s extremely violent, it’s extremely funny, extremely emotional,” said Stewart, who is co-producing the indie flick.
Post “Twilight,” the final film “Breaking Dawn, Part 2” will debut in November, Stewart has been looking for roles that are out of the ordinary. She tested her acting chops as Joan Jett in “The Runaways” and as an actual runaway in “Welcome to the Rileys.”
Her role in her latest film “On the Road,” based on the Jack Kerouac book by the same name is also a step on the wild side. She plays a sexually liberated woman and appears nude in the film.
“It’s kind of insane to watch now. I’m like, ‘Who is that?’ But I think — as every actress says when they do this is — it just felt so right,” she said of the movie.
