Justin Bieber is in hot water again for speeding in the luxury sports car he received for his 18th birthday. The latest incident suggests a pattern of impulsive behavior that raises questions about his maturity and his ability to manage anger.
The 18-year-old singer was stopped by California Highway Patrol on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles today (July 6), for speeding and driving wrecklessly in his high-priced Fisker Karma car, according to TMZ.
“Bieber was driving like a maniac. He was weaving in and out of traffic. There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane,” without signalling Dennis Zine,, an eyewitness told the Web site.
Zine happens to be an L.A. City Councilman and a former police officer. “If I was on patrol, I would have arrested him for reckless driving. I was going 60 and he drove by me like he was in a rocket ship. He was a maniac,” he says.
Zine also says the paparazzi were incredibly irresponsible, driving on the shoulder of the freeway and causing an extreme hazard. After he was pulled over, at least four photographers were snapping away at Bieber’s car.
Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, who bought him the car, claims Justin called 9-1-1 because the photographers continued to follow him after LAPD issued him a ticket.
But how long can Justin’s bad behavior be blamed on photographers, DJs and others?
He hung up during the middle of a radio interview last month after getting ticked off because the DJ said he sounded like Justin Timberlake. When the conversation strayed to an issue that girlfriend Selena Gomez joked about, he hung up.
Bieber had another run-in with photographers June 26 when they started yelling to either rile him or get his attention while he was playing golf.
He also got in a scuffle with a photographer who was allegedly blocking his car as he and Selena were leaving a shopping mall. And, it’s not just photographers.
He hassled his fans while waiting at Toronto’s airport because they wanted a photo with him. And before that he gave the finger to fans who were following him at a theme park.
But this latest incident was the most serious yet. It was careless, wreckless, totally wanton,” said Zine. “At the time I didn’t know who it was. It was absolute total disregard for everyone’s safety, including himself.”
At 18, Justin couldn’t possible have enough driving experience to pull those stunts. He could have easily killed himself or others. When will he explode next?
