Mackenzie Foy, may be Twilight’s tiniest vampire, but she’s one of the biggest attractions in “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.” All eyes will be on her, so is she feeling the pressure?
Foy, 11, began her career as a child model for Garnet Hill, Polo Ralph Lauren and Guess (Kids). She branched into television commercials and started picking up television roles in 2009.
“Twilight’s” Breaking Dawn, Part 1 and Part 2 is her first major film, although she now has two other features in post production, “Plastic Jesus” and “The Warren Files.” Both are in post-production.
Going into the audition, she was briefed on the background of her character, Renesemee Cullen, the daughter of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. She knew it was a big deal.
“I knew what the books were and I knew Renesemee was Bella’s and Edward’s daughter. “It was just a really cool audition,” she said. “I liked it,” she told MTV’s Josh Horowitz.
Even though she was only “nine and a half,” she revealed that she’d already seen the first two movies, “Twilight” and “New Moon.” So much for the debate over whether the movies are appropriate for children.
She found out she got the part while she was in Hawaii shooting scenes for a role in the television series “Hawaii Five-O.”
“I was like, ‘What? What did you say?’ I was like ‘Ayyyy… My first movie, Oh my gosh!’ I was freaking out. I wanted to scream, but I couldn’t because I was in a hotel.”
